INFORMATION FROM THE ORGANISERS
The Relay is for Club teams of eight runners. Each of the four legs must be covered by two runners from each team. Each runner may compete on one leg of the Relay only. Runners must be 18 years or over except that on leg 1 one of the runners may be aged 16 or 17 years provided that the other runner on that leg is over 18. Ages are calculated on the race date.
The Relay is held on Sunday and starts from King George V Playing Fields in Patterdale and is run in a clockwise direction with the first changeover at Hartsop.
There are four categories of team:-
Open – no restrictions except first claim membership of the Club
Women – all of the runners must be women
Veteran – all the runners must be aged at least forty years on the day of the race.
Mixed – at least four of the runners must be women
Entry is limited to 60 teams. Clubs may enter more than one team but will not be guaranteed more than one team. Preference will be given to Clubs that have supported the Relay since its inception.
